Positive progress at Sleaford Moor Enterprise Park
Work by Smith Construction to build plots one and three – which together make up phase one – is going well. The units in these plots are on track for expected completion in the coming weeks, ready for handover to the first businesses which will call the enterprise park home.
In fact, all of the plot three units are under offer and going through legal preparations with the businesses hoping to take up residence in them. On plot one meanwhile, there is strong level of enquiries with a number of interested parties currently in lease discussions. You can read more HERE.

Destination Management Plan workshops
Over the next few weeks, a new 5-year plan for the visitor economy will be developed. If yoy run visitor economy businesses and lead teams in tourism, retail, leisure and hospitality, you’re invited be part of its creation.
The first session is taking place face-to-face at International Bomber Command Centre, on July 26th from 9.30-11.30am, where you will be invited to share your views on:
• Priorities, vision and aspirations for the future – what will work and what needs to happen?
• What are the visitor economy/destination strengths, challenges, and opportunities?
• In terms of current destination management, what works/what doesn’t?
• What do you think needs to happen in the future?
• How do you see yourselves involved in a) the process and b) the implementation?

Do you own a small business? You can shape the future of UK high streets by joining the Federation of Small Businesses survey from 13 to 27 July. Support for first time events in North Kesteven
Under the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), £12,000 is being offered to fund new events in the district, to engage the community, with the aim to improve pride in place. It must be the first time the event has been held and it must be located in North Kesteven.

If you own a tourism business in North Kesteven, we encourage you to enter this years Destination Lincolnshire Tourism Awards. There are 15 individual categories, they can be found on the categories page via the link below.
All award winners will receive a prestigious trophy and framed certificate. Some category winners will be invited to represent Lincolnshire in the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence competition for 2024. Last years awards saw, the North Kesteven based, International Bomber Command Centre make it through to the England Tourism Awards.

SMEs and older workers learning workshop
The Centre for Ageing Better and Lincolnshire partners are bringing together SMEs to share learning around the recruitment and retention of older workers. Workshops are being held to bring together SMEs to share learning around the recruitment and retention of older workers.
During the workshop, businesses and organisations will hear about practical tips and guidance that they can use following the day. They will also have the opportunity to share their views and experiences about the challenges of implementing age-friendly employment policies, and the kinds of support that they think would help them.
The workshop will be held in person on Monday 3 July at 36 Orchard Street, Lincoln LN1 1YL from 09:30-12:00

North Kesteven Heritage Grant Scheme
Grant assistance of between £1,200 and £3,000 is now available for works to historic buildings in North Kesteven. Funding is available to both residential and commercial buildings, and the aim of the scheme is to preserve and enhance the District’s built heritage by encouraging the sympathetic repair of historic buildings. A scheme total of £25,000 is available and works eligible for grant assistance include the repair, restoration or reinstatement of original windows and doors, brickwork and stonework repairs and repointing, repairs to chimneys and the repair or reinstatement of traditional boundary walls, railings and steps.

Grants are available for 80% of the total cost of eligible works for Listed Buildings (to a maximum grant of £3,000), 60% of the total cost of eligible works for buildings in a Conservation Area (to a maximum grant of £1,800) and 50% of the total cost of eligible works for properties included on the Council’s ‘local list’ of non-designated heritage assets or where they meet the criteria for inclusion (to a maximum grant of £1,200). Further details of the Council’s local list including the listing criteria can be viewed on our local list of non-designated heritage assets webpage.
Works not eligible for grant include the installation of UPVC windows and doors, cosmetic redecoration, general maintenance works and the reinstatement/replacement of non-original architectural features.
